Can you image our faces...we have followed Elizabeths blog for years!!!! We opened the box carefully... ....Delighted with tears .....it was wrapped so neatly and there they were these two adorable bird ornaments that shout "Elizabeth is here!!!!!!" We were both full of admiration of all  the detailed work that  went into these sweet little birds!!!!  Elizabeth brings out her personality in them ...it really is amazing!  She also made this sweet little candy cup filled with  chocolate :) with a tiny little pipecleaner bird on the handle! We also recieved some vintage Valentines cards...and a beautiful heart with a darling little girl in the blue dress! and...look....look at these vintage fabric blocks....they are so pretty....I know just where I can use these!!!! Thank you so much Elizabeth for including us in your ornament swap! You are so generous..... I have learned so much from you...it makes me want to tackle different techniques....and make things as beautiful as your creations! Do you have an etsy shop?....

You're Grand Let's "Skip" Together!

This was my first try at making a little wood head doll ornament! I'm pretty happy with the outcome ...but I do need to pratice some techniques that my blogging friends have shared on the internet :)
This little doll I sent to Elizabeth at creativebreathing for her ornament swap! Elizabeth is an expert at little dollys she also has links with patterns and tutorials. They were very helpful!
I was trying to bring out the little girl on this valentine card.... I loved the saying on it ...it reminded me of what I would probably asking Elizabeth to do with me if she was one of my grade school classmates! I had a few emails asking how I did the jump rope, what I did was used a pipecleaner and wrapped it tightly with yellow yarn. I need some tips on making the legs strong enough to hold the head up. That was one of the problems I had ...so I cut out a piece of cardboard and used it for leg support in the back of her legs.

Valentines Day decorating!

I just started adding a few little printouts here and there to celebrate the holiday! I love red...aqua...blue...pink and white....my walls in my kitchen are buttercreme which is a cheery nuetral color..don't you think? Here are a few more snaps around the kitchen...
This is an old temperature gauge that is also in my kitchen I added a little Valentine girl she is turned into a magnet so she can come off and be put away after the holiday....

I also added a cute little Valentine printout on my metal matchbox holder it is held there by using magnets. I change my little magnets with every holiday as I do on my little pink refrigerator :)
Above my sink I painted wood letters pink from AcMoores and I love to see my bluebirds so they are in the kitchen where I spend most of my time!Don't you just love bluebirds?

Happy Rednesday!

Today we would like to share a couple things for Rednesday.  Last year we made these pot holders for Valentine's Day, the idea is from Martha Stewart.  We want to make another set with pinks using a floral print and maybe pink gingham...We just bought these darling little Dairy Queen wagons to go with our Dairy Queen napkin holder...Don't they look sweet?

Make sure to visit our host Sue at It's A Very Cherry World for more lovely reds!

Hugs,
Laura and Michele

Valentine's Banner

We were inspired by many banners that we see on the web and thought it would be fun to make our own!!  We printed out some free vintage Valentine's images and got to work!  It was fun and looks lovely on our hutch, don't you think so?

Heart Napkin Holders

We know we're a little late posting these, but they're so cute that we had to share.  We made these pretty napkin rings the other day from leftover fabric from our heart pot holders, we don't like to waste!  The fact that they coordinate with our pot holders is also a plus.  We wanted them to have a vintage look, and the heart buttons added the perfect touch.  They didn't look right with just the buttons, so my mom thought to make yoyos as a back-drop.  What a clever idea!  We work so well together, sharing our ideas.  Oh and just in case you didn't notice, we love gingham!  We hope that everyone had a Happy Valentine's Day.  We spent it watching movies, eating popcorn, and other goodies!  How about you?
